English Martyrs'
Project Overview:
English Masters School embarked on a significant project to expand its facilities by adding two new classrooms and making alterations to two existing ones. The project commenced during the summer shutdown period and extended through to Christmas. Despite the complexity and challenges of working in a live school environment, the project was successfully completed on time.
The construction had to be carried out while the school was operational, which necessitated careful planning to minimize disruption to students and staff.
The presence of students required heightened safety measures and a careful schedule to avoid peak times of student movement.
Delivering materials to the site had to be meticulously planned to align with the school’s daily activities, ensuring minimal interference with the school’s operations.
Coordination was crucial to manage deliveries during off-peak hours, and materials were often brought in early mornings or late afternoons.
Noisy and disruptive activities were scheduled well in advance. This required constant communication with the school administration to plan around critical school times, such as exams and key events.
Efforts were made to carry out the noisiest work during times when students were least likely to be affected, such as during recess or after school hours.
